Law roundup: Residents try to sniff out rockhounds
Someone allegedly read a social media post about kids throwing rocks and breaking car windows and then spotted a group of five or six kids riding bikes who were grabbing handfuls of rocks, and putting them in grocery bags, and suspected they might be the culprits. Kalispell Police Department planned to do extra patrol. Officers received an earlier call from someone who had a video of kids throwing rocks at a car during the night.
A man wearing a black tank top reportedly became upset about losing his keys and resorted to throwing things in the street and hitting his car with a baseball bat, breaking the windshield while a woman yelled at him.
A woman reportedly thought it was suspicious to see two teens pull up in a Jaguar and was concerned about drug activity when she smelled ammonia, saw one of the teens had a backpack, and noticed a lot of foot traffic in the area.
Two males were allegedly chasing another male and yelling they were going to kill him. Although the individual being chased got away, a restaurant worker wanted the other two, who sat down at a bench, to move along because the males didn’t “need to be raising Cain” in the area.
A boy reportedly began destroying things at a location after an employee asked him to get off a computer. Another employee tried to calm the boy down while the police were called.
A man alleged a woman stole his bicycle and “all his things” from a women’s bathroom where he had the items locked up inside, and loaded them into a truck. The man was reportedly too angry to provide details such as when and where.
