Ruth A. Reetz, 68

| June 25, 2023 12:00 AM

Our dear Ruth Anne Reetz was born on August 5, 1954, in Rockford, Illinois to Harold and Amy Mae Reetz. The youngest sister of Nancy and Cathy.

She passed away late in the night of June 11, 2023, at Brendan House, in Kalispell. She had her favorite solar-powered full-colored turtles on display and piano music playing softly in the background. Her dear friend, and Angel, Cheryl Hueneke was by her side.

She graduated from High School in Rockford, Illinois, then moved to Montana when she was 17 years old and never left.

She was well known in the medical community, as she had worked in several doctors’ offices and around the hospital.

She was hired at the hospital by her dear friend Phyllis Bogdane. She just made her 25th anniversary, with what is now called Logan Health Medical Center.

She had seen many, many changes in her time, during which she held various jobs. She had worked in many jobs from a health unit clerk (HUC), to a scanner for medical records, which she loved, to an insurance biller for secondary claims, to a telehealth sitter at the end of her career, with many other jobs in between.

She was always a quick wit, never passing up a chance to make someone laugh. An avid dog lover, she had many beloved dogs which brought much joy to her life. One never saw Ruthie in a bad mood, nor did we ever hear her speak ill of someone else.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Amy Reetz; her sister, Cathy McComb; her nephew, Russell McComb; various aunts, uncles and cousins, including Ross Holcomb.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy Hillman of Illinois; and nieces Lori Hillman and Shannon McComb; her auntie, Wilma Jones. As well as many local cousins in Flathead valley, including Bruce Jones and wife Jacquie; Helen Tyree and husband Darrin; Brenda Carper and husband Brian, and a host of others within the United States and abroad.

Ruth's farewell party will take place at 4 p.m. on June 30th, at the VFW in Kalispell, 330 1st Ave West.

The family would like to thank all her caregivers for the kindness and empathy everyone showed to our dear Ruthie during her hospitalization, and stay at Brendan House. Each and every one of you are Angels on Earth.
