2 each from Vals, Vikings are B All-State hoops

The Bigfork Valkyries and Vikings, who teamed up for a landmark State B girls basketball title and a third-place finish at the boys tournament, each put two players on the All-State team.

Sophomore Braeden Gunlock and freshman Paeten Gunlock sit atop the District 7-B all-conference team, which was released this week. The duo, which helped Bigfork to its first state championship over the weekend in Great Falls, made up half the All-State picks from the conference.

Also making All-State were senior Ellie Baxter of Thompson Falls and senior Kooper Page of Mission. They’re also first-team all-District 7-B along with sophomore Ava Davey and senior Scout Nadeau of the unbeaten Valkyries (26-0).

For the Vikings, seniors Isak Epperly and Nick Walker were All-State, along with senior guard Zoran LaFrombvois of Mission and senior forward Jesse Claridge of Thompson Falls.

Filling out the first-team boys were Braden Casazza of Eureka, a junior, and Eli Thorness if Bigfork, also a junior.
