Bruce Allen Hogan, 76

Bruce Allen Hogan, 76, lost his battle with CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) on March 8, 2023. Judy, Greg and Renee were at his side.

Bruce was born March 20, 1946 in Glenwood Springs, Colo., to Francis and Florence Hogan.

He grew up in Kevin, Montana and graduated High School from Sunburst in 1964.

Bruce was awarded seven full-ride athletic scholarships upon graduation. He chose Montana State University.

Bruce cherished the group of players from the Hall of Fame class of 1964-65. They were very close and have remained close friends. They call themselves the Decrepit Bobcats and get together every four years for a reunion. This group of men are very proud of the fact they never lost to the Grizzlies.

Bruce met Judy Rowe her first week of school at Montana State in 1966, and as they say, the rest is history. Bruce and Judy were married Aug. 12, 1967. In April 1969 they were blessed with their son Greg. In July of 1970 they were blessed again. Renee was born and the family was complete.

Bruce taught school and coached for nine years. He then switched careers and became a construction products sales rep. The family was moved several times with company transfers.

Bruce and Judy moved back home to Montana, and settled in Kalispell after they both retired.

Bruce loved all sports. His favorite pastime was golf. He was a member of Whitefish Lake Golf Club. He was thrilled to have made two holes-in-one during his years of golf.

Bruce was proceeded in death by his parents, Francis and Florence Hogan. In-laws, Grandma Beatrice Curry, mother- and father-in-law Lyle and Aileen Rowe.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Judy, son Greg (Cyndi) and their sons Taylor and Lyle, Daughter Renee (Kyle) Smock, their daughter Kaitlyn and son Sean.

No services will be held per Bruce’s request.
