Monica Kay Hanson, 62

Monica Kay Hanson, 62, passed away peacefully in her home on Feb. 27, 2023. Monica was born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 13, 1960.

The things Monica enjoyed in life were camping, building campfires, fishing, hunting, spending time with her grandchildren. One of Monica's favorite sports to play growing up was softball with her parents as her coach. Then she coached her children and passed down that love of softball. She also loved watching football, baseball and Nascar.

Monica is survived by her partner Scott Russell; father Jack Hensley of Sioux Fall, South Dakota; her siblings Ann Sampson of Des Moines, Iowa; Kim Walz of Sioux Fall, South Dakota; Rhonda Dutton of Bella Vista, Arkansas. Her children Jenny Lee of Livingston; Jeremy Hanson of Kalispell; Joni Hanson of Kalispell; and her grandchild Dawson and Devon lee, Zoey and Evie Hanson.

Monica's celebration of life will be held Sept. 16, 2023 at Lower Thompson Lake, there will be yellow balloon and directions and time will be available on Monica's Facebook page closer to the date.

Monica suffered from alcoholism but the last year of her life through God's grace she walked in sobriety. Monica's family couldn't be more proud of her. If you suffer from any kind of addiction there are meetings on Thursday's at Canvas Church at 6:30 p.m. God is the light in your darkness.

"The only temptations that you have are the same temptations that all people have. But you can trust in God. He will not let you be tempted more then you can bear. But when you are tempted. God will also give you a way to escape that temptation. Then you will be able to endure it." 1 Corinthian's 10:13
