Kubi named MVP of Treasure State Classic
A trio of Flathead Bravettes were drafted onto the B West team for last weekend’s Treasure State Classic all-star girls basketball tournament in Billings, and ended up losing in the championship.
Akilah Kubi was named tournament Most Valuable Player; she scored 18 points in B West’s 48-45 loss to B East at Alterowitz Gym on the MSU-Billings campus. Kubi had a total of 39 points in three games, according to statistics posted online.
Avery Chouinard and Maddy Moy joined Kubi on the B West squad, which also included Kason Page and Kooper Page from Mission, Charlotte Cummings of Missoula Loyola, Aubree Meecham from Columbus and Kinley Erickson of Joliet.
Moy also made the all-tournament team.
The B East team was led by Malea Egan of Colstrip and Aubrey Allison of Shepherd.
