Brunch focuses on assiting retirees entering workforce

| March 26, 2023 12:00 AM

The Retiree Workforce Group is holding a Retiree Workforce Brunch on April 5 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The brunch is aimed at providing information about returning to the workforce and employment opportunities for retirees. The event will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 540 Main Street, Kalispell.

With the rising cost of living, many retirees are considering returning to work. However, it can be challenging for retirees to know where to start when it comes to reentering the workforce. The Retiree Workforce Brunch will provide retirees with the information they need to navigate today’s job market and to connect with employment opportunities.

"We understand that returning to the workforce can be a daunting experience for retirees, and we want to help them navigate this transition," said Jenn Cronk, workforce and special initiatives director of Discover Kalispell Chamber.

During the brunch, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from industry experts and employers who are looking for retirees to fill job openings. The event will also feature resources that will provide attendees with valuable tips on how to update their resumes, prepare for job interviews, and connect with employers.

"The retiree brunch will provide attendees with the tools they need to find meaningful employment opportunities that match their skills and experience," said Laura Gardner, Manager, Job Service Kalispell.

Jenn Prunty, Founder/Board Chair of My Glacier Village, said the brunch will be a comfortable, friendly, casual way for retirees and seniors to learn about and explore work options in the Flathead over a cup of coffee with local employers.

The event is free to attend and open to all retirees who are interested in returning to the workforce or exploring employment opportunities.

Space is limited, so advance registration is required. Employers and organizations presenting at the Retiree Workforce Brunch include: Flathead Valley Community College, Job Service Kalispell, Immanuel Lutheran Communities, Express Employment Professionals and Logan Health.
