Creston auction set for this weekend
The annual Creston Auction returns this weekend featuring a field packed with a variety of treasures in support of the all-volunteer fire department in Creston.
The 57th annual Creston Auction and Country Fair runs Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2.
This is a fundraising benefit for Creston’s all-volunteer fire department and is the largest spring event of its kind in Northwest Montana — drawing thousands of people from throughout the region.
Today, Friday, March 31 is consignment day when consigned or donated items will be accepted from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Items can be consigned, meaning a substantial portion of the sale price goes back to the seller, or donated, meaning all proceeds go to Creston Fire.
On Saturday, April 1 at 9 a.m. the opening ceremony will be held and is immediately followed by kicking off of the general merchandise auction and rummage sale. In addition to the auction, attendees can purchase locally made art and handicrafts in the Eastside Grange Hall and smaller items in the rummage sale located in the Creston School Gym. Hot food and beverages will be available for purchase all day.
Saturday bid tickets are $10 and will go on sale at 7 a.m. Saturday at the cashier windows.
On Sunday, April 2 at 11 a.m. the vehicle and equipment sale begins.
Sunday bid tickets are $10 and will go on sale at 9 a.m. Sunday morning at the cashier windows.
Hot and cold food items will be available for purchase at Saturday and Sunday auctions as well as non-alcoholic beverages, including water. There will be baked goods available for purchase on Saturday outside on the auction grounds.
The Creston Auction and Country Fair is the largest annual fundraiser for the Creston Fire Department and has been held in Creston since 1966.
