Law roundup: Goats go wild, harass man and eat screen
Two goats running wild purportedly tried to attack a man in Kalispell. The man called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office a second time when the ornery goats were spotted eating a screen door. The caller said one of the goats had a blue collar with no tag and the other appeared to be a baby.
A Columbia Falls resident had questions for deputies about neighbors who allegedly tore up his gravel driveway with an ATV and said they would fix it but never did.
A burn pile was reportedly got large enough that it joined other burn piles and was about 40 feet from a house in Kalispell. A man called deputies very upset that the fire was getting close to his buildings. The fire was extinguished and turned over to the property owner.
Wind allegedly pushed a Columbia Falls resident’s piles of trash into a neighbor’s yard, who, after picking up bags and bags of refuse, called deputies wondering if anything could be done.
Four checks from a couple’s personal account were allegedly used fraudulently around Kalispell. The numbers on the stolen checks indicated that they were likely from a box of new checks that had been stolen from their mailbox.
A dog reportedly fell off a 15-foot dock and broke its leg in Kalispell and the owner couldn’t get it up the embankment. The owner eventually got the dog out and to medical care.
An unoccupied Kia with no license plates was allegedly parked in someone’s driveway in Kalispell and the resident wanted it removed.
A woman reportedly tried to finish moving out of a rental but kept being put off by her landlord when trying to schedule a time to get the rest of her belongings. She also told police the landlord wasn't giving her the “reimbursements she was owed.”
A woman driving in Bigfork thought an older vehicle followed her from Kalispell but was no longer behind her.
Someone allegedly received messages containing death threats and they called deputies saying they thought the situation had escalated to stalking and that the individuals were in the area so they began driving around in circles.
Whitefish Police Department received a call about an apartment dweller who was reportedly threatening to call the cops on kids playing outside and was scaring other residents by yelling and banging on the floor.
An excitable man, who had been drinking, was allegedly setting off fireworks.
