Whitefish Community Foundation awards grants at May 18 event
Whitefish Community Foundation invites the public to its annual Community Grants Award Celebration on May 18 at the O’Shaughnessy Center in downtown Whitefish.
Whitefish Community Foundation received a record number of Community Grant applications this spring from nonprofit organizations in Flathead, Lincoln and Glacier counties. The foundation’s Grants Committee reviewed more than 50 applications representing over $420,000 in requests. Foundation board members will present grant awards to the successful applicants at the celebration.
The foundation will also present several special awards, including the Doris Schumm Community Spirit Award, Russ and Mary Jane Street Community Service Award, Jean and Bill Howard Memorial Award, and Whitefish Community Foundation Founders Leadership Award. In addition, individuals who have dedicated 20 or more years in service to one Flathead Valley nonprofit will receive special recognition.
“We are so excited to award a record number of grants and showcase the essential work of our local nonprofits,” Whitefish Community Foundation President/CEO Alan Davis said. “We can’t thank our Circle of Giving donors enough for investing in these important community projects.”
The event begins at 5:00 p.m. with a reception in the lobby featuring appetizers and an assortment of beverages. The official awards presentation begins at 6:00 p.m.
The Community Grants program is made possible by the Circle of Giving - the foundation’s core group of donors who pool their resources to create maximum impact.
