Symphony performs opera

Glacier Symphony’s orchestra, chorale and nine guest soloists will perform together to create a layered and vibrant musical version of the opera “Carmen.”

Performances take place at the Wachholz College Center on the campus of Flathead Valley Community College at 7:30 p.m. on May 13 and 3 p.m. May 14.

The concert version of a historic opera filled with tragic romance is sung both in the original French and English and highlights the cultural divide and misunderstandings between the two groups of people represented in the opera and augments the tension of the drama.

For close to 150 years, audiences have been fascinated by the show's melodrama, spirited female lead, fine arias, duets, and engaging choruses making “Carmen” the most frequently performed opera across the globe.

Tickets range in price. For tickets, visit www.wachholzcollegecenter.org.
