EUREKA — Joseph Farrier won three events, Wyatt Johnson, Inga Turner, Madison Chappius and Emma Pouwers all doubled up, and the Vikings and Valkyries swept the District 7-B track and field titles Saturday.

Farrier pulled off the rare win combo of the 100 meters, javelin and discus, and Bigfork’s boys piled up 187.5 points to 112 for Mission and 82.5 for Eureka.

Farrier ran his season best to win the 100 (11.50 seconds) and PR’d in the javelin (152-3).

Johnson swept the hurdles with some impressive times, winning the 110s in 15.52 seconds (second in Class B) and the 300s in 41.82 (third in B).

The Vikings also saw Tayden West hit a personal record (23.89) while winning the 200, got a win from Jack Jensen in the 1,600 and swept the relays,

There were more double-winners, including Mission’s Bryce Umphrey in the long and triple jumps. The Bulldogs also had wins from Zoran LaFrombois in the 3,200 and Canyon Sargent in the shot put.

Eureka’s Caleb Utter won the pole vault, clearing 13 feet for the second time this season; that sits in a tie for third in Class B.

Troy had wins from Kempton Sloan in the high jump and Nolan Morris in the 800.

Plains’ Mason Elliott won the 400.

Pouwers won the 100 and 200 for the Vals, who scored 239 points. Thompson Falls — with Ellie Baxter sweeping all three distance races — was next among the girls teams with 110 points. Eureka had 98 for third.

Turner won the 100-meter hurdles and the long jump for Bigfork; she joined a host of B athletes that have cleared 5 feet in the high jump this season.

Chappius won the triple jump and the javelin, and her mark of 118-7 in the latter is top-six for Class B.

The Vals’ Scout Nadeau won the shot put at 39-9.5; Afton Lambrecht added a win in the 400 meters. Bigfork also swept the girls relays.

Alexis Deming of Plains had a banner day, winning the discus with a Class B-best throw of 124-4 and marking 36-2.5 in the shot put, second to Nadeau and the sixth in B this spring.

Eureka had wins from Haidyn Guckenberg in the 300 hurdles (49.81, a PR) and Karli Campbell in the pole vault.
