County is soft on crime

Think New York City, Chicago and San Francisco’s soft-on-crime position can’t make it to Kalispell? Well, think again fellow Montanans. It’s already here, albeit on a smaller scale.

The May 15 Inter Lake front page features a man who allegedly threatened to shoot up a school and another who admitted to a rape. Both were walking free pending future court dates.

The man who allegedly threatened to shoot up a school had his bail reduced to from $30,000 to $500, and the admitted rapist will have the mandatory minimum sentence for his charges waived. Doesn’t mandatory mean it’s mandatory?

Come on folks, this is just nuts! The lawlessness and chaos of the big cities is making its way into smaller towns as well, and we should hold the prosecuting attorneys and judges in Kalispell directly responsible for this dangerous and lax attitude toward these dangerous thugs who frighten and harm the people of Montana.

This lack of will to hold people accountable is absolutely unacceptable. People will wave their pitchforks in the air about folks moving here and bringing their liberal politics with them. Many are fleeing the loony liberal attitudes that are destroying places like California, Oregon and Washington. However, they keep silent about the liberal approach to locking folks up here.

I will keep commenting, because I would be saddened to see beautiful Kalispell succumb to crime and chaos. I give my full throated support to our wonderful, dedicated law enforcement officers who risk life and limb to catch these criminals only to see liberal judges and prosecutors bargaining to let them off easy. If we need more jails then let’s build them! Whatever it takes to keep us safe.
