NO. 29861 The State of Montana Natural Resource Damage Program (NRDP) is preparing an interim restoration plan for the natural resources injured by Operable Unit 3 (OU3; the mine site) of the Libby Asbestos Superfund Site. NO. 29867 CITY OF WHITEFISH NOTICE OF MAIL BALLOT ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: by the City Council (the “Council”) of the City of Whitefish, Montana (the “City”), that pursuant to a certain resolution duly adopted at the meeting of the Council on August 7, 2023, a municipal election of the registered voters of the City will be held by mail ballot on November 7, 2023 for the purpose of voting on the following question:  To use the 3% resort tax starting February 1, 2025, as follows: (i) 25% for property tax relief; (ii) 48% for the repair, maintenance, and improvement of streets, including storm sewers, all underground utilities, sidewalks, curbs and gutters; (iii) 10% for community housing initiatives including the development of deed restricted affordable housing units and community housing programs; (iv) 10% for improvements and maintenance of bicycle and pedestrian paths and other park acquisitions, capital improvements, and equipment; (v) 2% for the maintenance and replacement of existing improvements of the Whitefish Trail with any amounts not expended within five fiscal years available for the maintenance of City bicycle and pedestrian paths; and (vi) 5% for merchants’ costs of administration. The election will be conducted solely by mail ballot by the Flathead County Election Administrator. Ballots will be mailed to all eligible registered voters in the City on October 23, 2023, and must be returned by each voter, by mail to the Flathead County Election Administrator, Flathead County, 290 B North Main Street, Kalispell, MT 59901 or in person to Whitefish City Clerk at the City Clerk’s office, 418 E. 2nd Street, Whitefish, Montana, during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), weekdays, October 19, 2023 through November 6, 2023, and on Election Day, November 7, 2023 (7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.).
