Jacob Mathwig, 58

| November 2, 2023 12:00 AM

Pastor Jake Mathwig, 58 of Bigfork, born on Sept. 25, 1965, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Oct. 28, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, grace and dedication.

He was a devoted pastor  in Marion, Montana, who touched the lives of many people in his communities of Marion and Bigfork. He was known for his kind and compassionate nature, and his unwavering faith in God. He was a true servant of the Lord Jesus, who dedicated his life to spreading the Gospel and helping others no matter what. His passing is a great loss to his family, friends, and community, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Mathwig; and his sister, Peggy Thompson.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kay Mathwig; his four children, Chloe, Josiah, Caleb, Lydia, and their spouses; as well as his mother, Shirley Mathwig; and his brothers, Walter, Everett and Lonnie Mathwig.

Due to the sudden loss there are some unanticipated expenses and the family would greatly appreciate anyone who feels led to give. You can make payments out to Kay Mathwig or donate to the go fund me account at https://gofund.me/90ec3df6.

Jake's celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the First Baptist of Big Fork, Montana.
