Logan Health holds simulated active shooter training on Saturday
Logan Health Medical Center and Kalispell Fire Department will be participating in a full-scale active shooter exercise on Saturday, Nov. 4.
This exercise will simulate an active shooter event and will be conducted on the Logan Health Medical Center campus. The purpose of this is to evaluate the capabilities and response of local emergency responders and the Logan Health Medical Center Emergency Department.
The exercise will begin at 10 a.m. and will conclude at noon. All participants will then meet for one hour to evaluate their performance and to determine ways to improve.
In 2022, the United States saw the highest number of active shooter casualties in the past five years. Exercises like these are held annually to ensure that first responders and emergency workers are prepared in the event that an active shooter situation were to take place locally, according to a press release from Logan Health.
