A candle and red rose sit atop The Missing Man Table at the Veterans Day Community Event at Whitefish High School on Thursday, Nov. 9. The Missing Man Table was dedicated to the 359 servicemen still missing from the Battle of Tarawa, a three-day battle in November 1943 where 1,020 United States servicemembers lives were lost.
