Law roundup: Parkour moves don’t land well with police
A male who reportedly climbed onto a roof took off running on First Avenue West until the Kalispell Police Department caught up and detained him. He said he was just doing some parkour.
A casino employee allegedly asked a customer to leave and began hearing someone screaming and what sounded like they were trying to get into a nearby building. The employee said they thought it was the customer and thought he had a mental issue because he had been talking to someone who wasn't there. Officers saw signs of forced entry and also heard screaming and shuffling sounds coming from upstairs, but no one was located inside. Security informed officers that a man matching their description was seen walking westbound from the location.
Someone allegedly drove by a Honda pickup full of teens drinking alcohol. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle but made contact with a parent.
A female with a side ponytail reportedly shoplifted and took off running, forgetting her purse, which was left behind.
A store allegedly took an individual’s check written for $5 and someone added a couple of zeros to the end. The check writer told officers the store caught the counterfeit check and informed them what happened, however, the person said they were “in collections because of it.”
Someone reportedly purchased two firearm frames for $400 online and didn’t receive shipping details or the items and wanted to report them as stolen. An officer counseled them about the statute of limitations, provided options and gave them a case report number.
A man standing in the middle of the road was reportedly throwing a black jacket in the air and screaming at a large black bag.
A business owner called the police about receiving a sexual harassment complaint involving an employee and their manager and alleged that the employee wanted the manager fired and threatened to “burn the place down,” if it didn’t happen.
A running black Maxima containing three unsupervised children under the age of 4 was reportedly parked at the front of a store. One of the children was in a car seat.
