Bulldog boys put 5 players on All-State team

Five members of Whitefish’s 15-0 boys soccer team — which won the program’s 10th soccer title in October — all All-State for Class A.

Seniors Rye Duffy, Ryder Elliott, Adam Healy and Jackson Dorvall, along with sophomore Kyler Johnson, were among the top eight vote-getters from the Northwest A coaches, who chose an 11-man first team.

Elliott scored 12 goals with 10 assists and Johnson had 13 goals and four helpers for the Bulldogs. Junior Preston McPherson, who scored the goal in Whitefish’s 1-0 championship win over Billings Central, was a second-team pick.

Columbia Falls’ Kai Golan and River Wolford were All-State as well. Golan scored a Class A-best 23 goals and his 52 points also led the state. 

Polson’s Anthony Lichtenberg was also All-State, while teammate Maddox Bird, Libby’s Aldric Martineau and Bigfork’s Caleb Riedesel were all-Northwest A.
