Putting a new phone through its paces, a resident decided to make sure it could contact first responders presumably in the event of an emergency. Dispatchers confirmed that the phone had, indeed, successfully called 911.

A pharmacist contacted the Whitefish Police Department after a man in a blue jacket, plaid scar and red baseball cap submitted a fraudulent prescription. The pharmacist told authorities that they had been working with the Flathead County Attorney’s Office in an attempt to catch the man.

Officers received a voicemail message wherein a caller complained about getting scammed out of tens of thousands of dollars.

An Agate Drive resident asked to speak with an officer regarding questions about money potentially missing from the account of a homeowners association.

After giving the offending motorist time to pass along his insurance information, the owner of a Ford F-150 asked to file a report with the police. The collision occurred about two weeks prior in the parking lot of a supermarket and caused roughly $1,326 in damage.

A very intoxicated couple left a local sub shop and hopped into a red pickup truck, prompting an employee to ring the authorities. Officers were unable to locate the pair.

Authorities removed a reported “big deer” in the middle of the southbound lane of Denver Street.

A resident asked police to intervene with an unwelcome guest. The resident told authorities that a 41-year-old woman kept messing with him, wouldn’t leave him alone and continued to try and get into his room. The resident agreed to call if the woman showed up again.

Provided with options on how to handle an errant and apparently aggressive deer in the yard, a Fourth Street resident decided to up the ante. If someone didn’t do something about the deer soon, she would stab it with a pitchfork, she said.

Finding a sickly cream colored Jack Russell terrier wandering around town, officers took it to an emergency vet clinic for an examination. The checkup found evidence of pancreatitis and determined that the dog was running a fever. Following treatment, the dog was brought to the county shelter.
