Law roundup: Job seeker details bad interview experience
A job seeker’s bad experience en route to an interview at a local business prompted a phone call to the Kalispell Police Department. Officers listened while he described what he considered a rude encounter and gave him some advice going forward.
The owner of an 18-year-old tabby cat asked for investigators’ help after the feline vanished. Officers forwarded the information along to animal control.
After buying a used vehicle, a woman began to wonder about its history. She phoned the police looking to see if it was reported stolen. It had not come with a title, she told them. Officers let her know the vehicle did not come back as stolen, but she came back with an active warrant.
A resident reported multiple dogs running around their property. The owner of the animals also allegedly came onto their property and placed one of the canines in front of the home’s security camera. The caller was uninterested in pursuing a trespassing charge for the dog owner; they just wanted someone from animal control to remove the dogs.
Authorities checked in on a woman walking through town and picking up rocks. They learned she was on her way to a shelter.
Officers were asked to intervene with a screaming man apparently heading through a parking lot toward a store. Authorities met up with the man and let him know he was no longer welcome on the property.
A resident who lost money via credit card fraud on the online financial service PayPal phoned authorities. They said the bank was looking for a case report number from local law enforcement.
Officers were summoned to a local bank for a report of a woman throwing rocks at vehicles. It turned out it was a young man rather than a woman and his mother agreed to address the situation.
A woman reported an indecent exposure incident in a parking lot outside of a local store.
Although out of the house, a resident could see a group of teenagers hanging out on his front yard via surveillance cameras. He asked that officers encourage the gaggle of teens to move along.
A commuter phoned the police after a blue truck began following her. The truck eventually passed her with the other motorist flipping her off before accelerating away. She spotted the truck, though, parked near where she worked and grew concerned. The truck eventually left.
Officers brought a husky found with no collar to the county shelter.
