Entertainment lineup includes a capella group, comedian and celebration of Elvis Presley’s early albums

A capella sensation Chanticleer, Hot Club of Cowtown with Tyler Hilton: Celebrating Elvis Presley’s records from Sun Studios and comedian Ryan Hamilton come to the stage at the Wachholz College Center in January, April and May.

The Wachholz College Center is on the campus of Flathead Valley Community College.

The Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer is set to perform at 3 p.m. Jan. 14, 2024.

Named for the “clear-singing” rooster in Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, Chanticleer has been described as “‘an orchestra of voices’ for its wide-ranging repertoire and dazzling virtuosity,” according to the a capella ensemble’s bio. Founded in 1978 in San Francisco by the singer Louis Botto, the group’s repertoire was rooted in the Renaissance and has since expanded to include a range of classical, gospel, jazz and popular music with a commitment to commissioned compositions and arrangements.

The ensemble’s recording catalog features these commissioned pieces, garnering Grammy Awards for its recording of Sir John Tavener’s “Lamentations and Praises,” and the ambitious collection of commissioned works titled “Colors of Love.”

Chanticleer is the recipient of the Dale Warland/Chorus America Commissioning Award and the Chorus America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming. Former Music Director Emeritus Joseph Jennings received the Brazeal Wayne Dennard Award for his contribution to the African-American choral tradition during his tenure with Chanticleer.

Tickets range in price from $39 to $50, not including ticket service fees.

Singer and actor Tyler Hilton, who portrays Elvis Presley in the 2005 Johnny Cash biopic “Walk the Line,” has teamed up with the inimitable string trio Hot Club of Cowtown to celebrate Presley’s early records from Sun Studios at 7 p.m. April 21, 2024.

Tickets range in price from $37 to $47, not including service fees.

On May 3, 2024, comedian Ryan Hamilton takes the stage “armed with the unique perspective of growing up in rural Idaho to become a favorite in the New York stand-up comedy scene, his bio states. Named one of “Rolling Stone’s” “Five Comics to Watch” he has appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” and “Conan.” He’s also opened for Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Gaffigan. Hamilton’s debut stand-up special, “Happy Face” is available on Netflix.

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range in price from $37 to $55, not including service fees.
