EUREKA — It was a record-setting Friday night for Eureka Lions AJ Truman and Tristan Butts, who hooked up on three touchdown passes in a 45-7 Western B football win over Whitehall.

Truman completed 8 of 18 passes for a single-game school record 339 yards while Eureka improved to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in league play. That broke the school record of 303 set by his cousin Jason Truman against Conrad in 1991.

Meanwhile Butts, who had TD catches covering 62, 73 and 25 yards, had 223 receiving yards on four catches. That broke the single-game record of 201 he set two weeks ago against Thompson Falls.

AJ Truman threw a fourth scoring pass to Josh Lambertsen; Lambertsen also had a 44-yard scoring run during the Lions’ 25-point first quarter. He picked up a team-high 64 yards on just three carries.

Aiden Helgert tacked on a 3-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter for Eureka, which piled up 586 yards of offense to 147 for the Trojans (1-7, 0-4 in league).
