Gulick throws 5 TD passes for playoff-bound Bulldogs

WHITEFISH — Carson Gulick threw five touchdown passes Friday, two of them to Dane Hunt, and ran for a score as the Whitefish Bulldogs beat Browning 50-14 in Western A football action.

Hunt caught scoring passes of 13 and 9 yards and Gulick was 19 of 24 passing for 315 yards to help the Bulldogs (4-5 overall, 4-4 in league) nail down the Western A’s fifth seed into the playoffs.

They’ll travel to fourth-seeded Columbia Falls Friday for a 7 p.m. first-round battle. Whitefish beat the Wildcats 20-14 in overtime in Whitefish on Sept. 15.

Bigfork (4-4), which was idle this week, is the No. 6 seed and will play at Hamilton Friday.

Hunt had six receptions for 74 yards; Scotty Dalen caught three passes for 72 yards for Whitefish, while Mason Kelch (3 receptions-64 yards), Krack (4-62) and Morgan Kyle (2-36) also caught TDs. Brady Howke added a 10-yard scoring run.

Payton Grant threw two touchdown passes for Browning, which ended up 3-6 and 2-6 in league games.
