Bewitching activities abound for Halloween

There are many activities planned around the Flathead Valley to celebrate Halloween beginning this weekend. Here’s a rundown of events for ghouls and goblins of any age. 


FRIDAY

The Smith Valley Fire Department holds a Cannibal Run fundraising haunted house from 6-9 p.m. at the fire hall, 3496 U.S. 2. Entry is $5 for the PG-13 event. Candy also for the little ones.

Join the Kalispell Downtown Association for an adult age 21 and older costume party for the Kreepyspell Krawl from 6-8 p.m. at The KM Bar, Brannigan's, MontaVino Winery, Bias Brewing and Sunrift Beer Company.

Tickets are $25 through Oct. 26 at Eventbrite. Tickets at the door are $35. Special Kreepyspell Krawl menu and beverages for purchase at each location.

A preliminary costume contest will be held at each location and a chance to win a $100 gift card. Each starting location will choose one lucky attendee to be entered into the costume contest at the Monster Ball.

The Monster Ball at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 37 1st St. W., Kalispell, from 8-11 p.m. is the opportunity to dance and mingle with a chance to win the grand prize costume contest. The best individual and best couple (or group) win $500 cash prizes. The music is by Kenny James Miller Band.

SATURDAY

The Kalispell Elks Lodge will hold a pumpkin carving party from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the lodge, 139 First Ave W. Pumpkins provided.

Deer Park School holds its Halloween Spook-Tacular from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the school gym.

The Flathead County Sheriff Posse and Evergreen Chamber of Commerce host a Trunk or Treat event from noon to 3 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club, 315 East Evergreen Dr.

Glacier Ranger Riders professional baseball team holds a Trunk or Treat event from 3-5 p.m. at Glacier Bank Park on U.S. 93 North between Kalispel and Whitefish.

In Columbia Falls, the Glacier Gateway Elementary PTO holds a Trunk or Treat event at the school from 4-5 p.m.

The Columbia Falls merchants host a Trick-or-Treat Street on Nucleus Avenue from 5-7 p.m.

SUNDAY

Northridge Lutheran Church holds its Trunk or Treat event from 1-3 p.m. in the west parking lot at 323 Northridge Dr.

MONDAY

The Whitefish Theatre Co., in collaboration with Merie Productions, presents The Whitefish Haunted House, an all-ages interactive walk-through experience. This family-friendly haunted house will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with walkthroughs occurring every 10 minutes. Tickets are $10 cash only, sold only at the door. The Whitefish Haunted House is designed by Rachel Naber Burke and constructed by WTC Technical Director Robbie Moody. Characters will be played by community members from around the Flathead complete with witches, grim reapers and more. Parents are reminded that some scenes may be scary for younger children.

TUESDAY

The Whitefish Theatre Co.’s holds the second night of The Whitefish Haunted House from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets $10, cash only at the door.

Head to downtown Whitefish for the Trick-or-Treat Street beginning at 3 p.m. Businesses on Central Avenue will hand out candy and treats. Check out the Hunted Art Studio at Stumptown Art Studio.

Stop by Whitefish City Hall to check out the Haunted Forest, activities, and treats from 3-5 p.m.

Northwest Montana United Way invites families to a trunk or treat from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Gateway Community Center, 1203 U.S. 2 W. in Kalispell in the west parking lot.

Bring the kiddos in their Halloween costumes to Electric Avenue in Bigfork for trick-or-treating in the Bigfork Village from 4 to 6 p.m. Other businesses not on Electric Avenue will set up their (trunk) spot at Lake Baked to hand out treats.

Faith Lutheran Church hosts a family-friendly trunk or treat from 4:45 to 6 p.m. There will be treats and activities for the children. The church is located at 405 Liberty St., Kalispell.

Kalispell First Church of the Nazarene is sponsoring an outdoor Trunk or Treat from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Snacks and warm beverages will be provided. The church is located at 1295 Whitefish Stage Road.

In downtown Kalispell, the Kalispell Fire and Police Departments hold a Trunk or Treat event, 312 First Ave. E, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m.

The Lakeside Somers Chamber of Commerce holds a Trunk or Treat event behind the Lakeside Community Chapel from 4-6 p.m.
