Helen C. Baker, 89

Helen Claire Baker, 89, passed away on Oct. 19, 2023, at Logan Health in Kalispell, Montana.

She was born March 5, 1934, in Kalispell, to Arthur and Ellen Rhodes. She attended school in Kalispell. She moved to Long Beach, California, where she met Neal Baker in Dec. of 1951. Helen and Neal married after 10 days of courtship in Yuma, Arizona, Dec. 23, 1951.

Neal was in the military and upon retirement they returned to Kalispell to raise their family. Helen worked at Elrod school as a teacher's aide, retiring in 1991. 

In 1993, Neal retired and they traveled spending summers in Montana and winters in Yuma. They returned to Kalispell in 2012. 

She is survived by daughters, Robin (Dan) Hagadone, and Dana (Jack) Coughlin; and daughter-in-law, Kelly Baker. She is also survived by grandchildren, Rachael (Peter) Miller, Kelcee (Tanner) Singleton, Connor (Spencre) Coughlin, Riley Baker, and Lily Baker; and great-granddaughter, Brinley Singleton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal; and son, Joel Baker; parents, Arthur Rhodes and Ellen Rhodes Connelly; stepfather, Tim Connelly; and brother, Warren Rhodes. 

As per Helen's request there will be no services. Donations may be made to Shriners Children Hospital, Spokane, Washington, or St. Judes hospital for kids.
