Kalispell teen killed, six injured in suspected DUI crash
A teenage girl from Kalispell died early Sunday morning after the pickup she was a passenger in rolled on U.S. 2 near Kalispell.
The 14-year-old girl died at the scene and the 16-year-old boy from Kalispell driving the GMC Sierra was taken to Logan Health Medical Center with injuries. Six people total were injured in the single-vehicle incident that occurred at about 3:23 a.m. at mile marker 112, according to a Montana Highway Patrol report.
The report lists alcohol as a suspected factor in the crash.
The pickup was traveling east on U.S. 2 when it left the roadway to the right, the report states. The driver attempted to overcorrect and the pickup rolled approximately 1 3/4 times, coming to a stop in a ditch.
The driver was fully ejected and the passenger was partially ejected. Neither was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
Road conditions were listed as dry.
The status of the other people involved was not immediately available.
