Betty Mae Stoick, 91
Betty Mae Stoick, 91, passed away Aug. 20, 2023, from complications after a fall. She was born April 12, 1932, in Long Beach, California, to Dick and Ethel Cooper.
She grew up in Missoula where she met husband Jerry in high school. Ten years later they were raising five children, three boys and two girls. Betty had a big job for about 30 years (actually more like 50) raising her family and helping run Stoick Drug for 36 years.
The family lived in Sandpoint, Idaho and Kalispell, partaking in the great outdoors including boating, skiing, golfing, and attending her kids sporting events.
She enjoyed the time she and Jerry spent in Green Valley, Arizona, a little golfing, napping, and entertaining spending time with old and new friends. She loved to travel with daughters Carol and Judy for fun girl's getaway trips in addition to traveling to almost every continent with Jerry.
She loved feeding and watching birds as long as they kept their distance. The bird book was always near. She did some fishing but was kind of freaked out when she hooked one.
She was a great volunteer and really enjoyed being involved in many service organizations. She was a fantastic cook, especially the lasagna, and her turkey crepes were to die for. She was a member of a bridge club most of her life.
She endured a fair amount of tragedy in her life but always rallied, making her family love her even more.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Gary and Greg; and husband, Jerry.
She is survived by daughters, Judy Stoick (Mike Hawe); Carol (Fred) Lechner; and son, David (Tracy); her sister, Patsy Kreitzberg; and brother, Jack Cooper; as well as numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Please join us for a celebration of life from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Sept. 10, at the Buffalo Hills Golf Club.
