Bravettes get first soccer win
HELENA — The Flathead Bravettes had a good weekend in Helena, coming away with a 2-1 win over Helena High on Friday and a 1-1 draw on Saturday with Helena Capital in Western AA girls soccer.
“What a crazy weekend,” Bravettes coach Zach Brenneman said. “Two incredible battles from our team. This weekend is always so challenging and to come out of it with a win and a tie is huge for our team. We have to reset and get ready to play Big Sky on Tuesday.”
Flathead’s Avi Schmautz scored the tying goal in the 31st minute on Saturday, and Mia Stephan and Ally Pollan scored Friday against Helena High, the Bravettes’ first win of the season.
“We had an hour lightning delay in the middle of the game but came out and won the game in the second half,” Brenneman said. “Phenomenal effort by this group.”
