Wildkats bounce back with win in Libby
LIBBY — The Columbia Falls Wildkats bounced back from a Tuesday loss to Whitefish with a 9-0 win in Libby on Thursday in Northwest A girls soccer.
“Solid game from the group, proud of the fact that every player contributed today,” Wildkats coach Thomas Clark said. “Big effort from the defense and goalkeepers to get a shutout.”
Hope McAtee fired off four goals and had two assists, and Josie Harris scored a hat trick. Freshman Riley Byrd had two assists for the Wildkats, who improved to 5-1-1 overall and 2-1-1 in league.
Polson is 1-5-0 and 0-3-0.

LIBBY — Kai Golan scored a second half hat trick for Columbia Falls in a 9-2 win over the Libby Loggers on Thursday.
"Took a lot of wind out of our sails, losing to Whitefish at home on Tuesday,” Wildcats coach O’Brien Byrd said. “Today was a good day to make a good rebound and rely heavily on our leadership. The team captains Rafe Rusche, Kai Golan, River Wolford and Ethan Henjum did a superb job leading the team today. They even led the halftime talk.”
Wolford and Jack Harris each scored twice.
Dylan Warner and Joaquin Carizares scored for Libby.
The Wildcats improve to 6-1-1 overall, 3-1-1 in Northwest A, and Polson is 1-4-0 and 0-3-0.
