COLUMBIA FALLS — Mila Johns and Josie Harris scored hat tricks for the Columbia Falls Wildkats in an 8-0 conference win over the Polson Pirates in Northwest A girls soccer on Tuesday.

“Very proud of our back line for securing the shutout,” Wildkats coach Thomas Clark said. “Mila Johns was an absolute monster, she does so much for this team and it was fantastic to see her get a hat trick."

Johns scored her three goals in the first half, with assists from Riley Byrd and Hope McAtee. Harris scored her last two goals late in the second half; she has 22 goals this season. McAtee scored in the 78th minute and had three assists for the Wildkats (6-1-1 overall, 3-1-1 in league).

Polson falls to 3-6-0 and 1-4-0.

Columbia Falls goalkeepers Erica Burguiere and Elaina Dorr combined for four saves in the shutout.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Kai Golan and River Wolford scored in the second half to lift the Columbia Falls Wildcats to a 3-2 win over the Polson Pirates in Northwest A soccer on Tuesday.

Golan scored in the 48th minute, and Wolford added two more to give the Wildcats (7-1-1 overall, 4-1-0 in league) a 3-0 lead. They needed that extra goal, because Polson (4-3-0, 2-2-2) players Anthony Lichtenberg and Pablo Gatell added late goals to cut the score to 3-2.

“First half was an improvement on the way we keep and advance the ball,” Wildcats coach O’Brien Byrd said. “Outstanding performance by center-backs Ethan Henjum and Max Everett to solidify the back line. River Wolford and Jack Harris pulled the strings in the midfield, and Kai Golan and Traic Fainter proved to be a menacing combo up top. We look forward to hosting Bigfork Saturday.”
