Flathead falls to Bengals, 47-14
HELENA — Carter Kraft ran for two touchdowns and threw to Jaxan Leiberg for two more scores Friday, and Helena High beat Flathead 47-14 in a Western AA football game.
Behind Kraft the Bengals (3-3 overall, 2-2 in league games) rolled up a 34-0 halftime lead at Vigilante Stadium. Helena also got touchdown runs from Trygve Braun (46 yards) and Tevin Wetzel (13), plus a back-breaking 89-yard interception return from Brett Grange with 2:18 left in the first half.
Wetzel ran for 102 yards on seven carries.
Flathead (1-5, 0-4) got on the board with Nolan Campbell’s 2-yard run 5:24 left in the fourth quarter, then got a pick-6 of its own from Jordan Giffin to complete the scoring.
The Braves’ next game is Thursday: The annual Crosstown game with Glacier, at Legends Stadium.
