Three different Glacier players hit home runs and Ella Farrell delivered a complete game in the circle as the Wolfpack defeated Flathead 9-2 in Crosstown softball Thursday.

Emma Cooke and Kenadie Goudette put the Wolfpack (7-2, 4-2 in Western AA games) out in front early with a pair of two-run homers in the first three innings. Zoey Allen added a solo shot in the fourth.

“I thought it was a good balanced team performance,” Glacier coach Abby Snipes said. “Anytime you score in five out of six innings and any player that comes to plate can get a hit, it’s a good day for us.”

On the mound Farrell quickly settled into the game allowing just two Bravettes on base in the first three innings.

“I think that it was a lot of focus,” Farrell said. “I’m going up against some pretty great hitters, so I think focusing your spots and working on your pitches and working the batters I think that was really important today.”

Farrell finished the day allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits. She fanned seven and walked just one.

Macey McIlhargey took the circle for the Bravettes (3-4, 1-3 in Western AA) allowing nine runs in six innings, seven of them earned. She finished with no walks and two strikeouts.

Cooke started things off for Glacier in the bottom of the first as she connected on a pitch to send it clear of the wall in left field to make it 2-0.

In the second, Olivia Warriner pulled a double down the line to score Karley Allen from first.

Goudette extended the Wolfpack lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the third, hitting one to straight away center field that bounced off the top of the wall and ended up in the crowd.

“I just saw it right down the middle and I really wanted it,” Goudette said. “I think I closed my eyes, but you never know.”

The Bravettes battled back in the top of the fourth as Kaidyn Lake connected on a pitch out to left center for a two-run home run that scored McIlhargey. A Sawyer VanCampen double and Olivia Nyman single put runners on the corners for Flathead with no outs.

Farrell worked out of the jam striking out Lacie Franklin, getting a fly out from Kinsey Lake and getting Ava Bessen to ground out.

The Glacier offense stayed hot in the fourth as Karley Allen hit a solo homer out to right center to make it 7-2.

Another RBI double from Warriner and a wild pitch that brought Karley Allen home made it 9-2 in the fifth inning as Glacier locked down defensively to close out the win.
