Barbara Mae Kropp, 87 of Kalispell, passed peacefully to her heavenly home on Jan. 19, 2024, at Logan Health. Barbara was born on Sept. 6, 1936, in Fairview, and lived there until the family moved to Havre, where she graduated from Havre High School. She had two sisters, Sandra and Jackie; and a brother, Dougie.

Barbara married Leonard (Gus) Vercruyssen in Hamilton; in 1955 and they were blessed with two daughters, Vicki and Linda, who were raised in Havre. Leonard passed away in 1973. In 1974, Barbara married Gary Kropp and they spent many winters traveling with friends to Arizona. They were members of the Good Sam Club where they enjoyed traveling around to different campgrounds and meeting new friends.

She was a faithful parishioner, involved in her church choir as well as volunteering in the church office. She participated in bible studies and women’s groups and especially loved going to potlucks. As a young mother, she attended adult education classes where she continued her love of sewing. She spent countless hours photographing family events and in turn created spectacular scrapbooks for each grandchild. One of Barbara’s favorite activities was to talk on the phone with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Kropp; sister, Sandra; brother, Dougie; as well as her granddaughter, Shaina Evans.

She is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Daryl) Ness of Sequim, Washington, and Linda (Gary) Evans of Columbia Falls; sister, Jackie (Rod) Roberts; four grandchildren, Jenn Tracy, Jacquelyne Ness, Nicole Mosely and Kallie Kimball; six great-grandchildren, Lindsey Monreal, Roman and Oliver Tracy, Willa Kimball, Bridger Mosely and Kaleb Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara’s service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with a reception to follow. Remembrances can be made in Barbara’s name to Trinity Lutheran Church.
