For 20 years Alpine Theatre Project has brought artists direct from Broadway to Whitefish to perform and teach. This mission continues with 10 stars tapped to perform Broadway showstoppers in a concert series titled, Harmony.

These Broadway veterans, who have performed in “Rent,” “The Lion King,” “Chicago,” “The Color Purple” and “Newsies,” will be joined on stage by 60 youths they mentored during Alpine Theatre Project’s annual Broadway Summer Camp.

Broadway Stars in Concert, featuring the veteran performers, is scheduled Aug. 1 and 2. Then Aug. 3 and 4 will be the time for students to shine in a Broadway Hopefuls concert. Both concerts will be held at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center, 127 Spokane Ave.

The summer camp gives local youths the chance to learn from and sing alongside Broadway performers.

“These artists have 30 Broadway credits among them under their belts,” ATP Artistic Director, Betsi Morrison said in a press release. “They are some of the most accomplished performers in the musical theatre world. We will have two nights of some of the finest musical theatre performances you’ll ever see in this area followed by two nights of inspiring performances by students so good, you’ll swear they’re professionals.”
