Legion regionals: Twins, Outlaws win; Scarlets, Mavs lose
ROSEBURG, Ore. — Matthew Mitts’ RBI single broke a 4-4 tie in the seventh inning, and the Glacier Twins held on to beat host Roseburg in the West A Regional Legion baseball tournament Wednesday.
The win moved the Twins (32-12) into Thursday’s late game against Millville/Ridgeline, Utah, at 8 p.m. Ridgeline beat Minico, Idaho 4-3 earlier Wednesday.
In Wednesday’s other games the Gallatin Valley Outlaws thumped the Post 47 Trappers out of Utah 10-0, and Eagle River, Alaska beat Central Point, Ore. 7-1.
The Outlaws and Eagle River will battle at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Twins 5, Crowns 4
Glacier built, then lost, a 4-0 lead. Maddox Muller and Trent Derosa had RBI singles to make it 2-0 in the fourth inning, and Muller and Michael Miller drove in runs with base hits in the fifth.
Roseburg got one run back in the fifth inning and then knotted it up in the sixth, taking advantage of two hit batters, a walk, a sacrifice fly and then a two-out error that let in two runs.
Mitts’ single in the seventh scored Muller, who’d drawn a lead-off walk; the Twins left the bases loaded but Dawson Juntunen worked around a two-out single in the seventh to nail downthe win.
Muller pitched into the fifth inning, allowing one run along with two hits and two walks. He fanned three.

Jaxson Iddings had three hits, Michael Diefenderfer doubled and drov ein three runs and the Outlaws ended the win over the team out Hyrum, Utah in six innings.
Marcus Holen and Aaron DeFrance each threw three innings for Gallatin Valley, which is centered in Three Forks. Each fanned four Trappers and walked one; Holen gave up all four Utah hits.
AA Montana teams fall
BILLINGS — Both the Billings Scarlets and Montana/Alberta AA state champion Missoula Mavericks fell in the first round of the Northwest AA Regional Wednesday.
Fort Collins, Colo. Beat the Scarlets 1-0 and Missoula was also shut out, 3-0 by Bellevue, Wash.

Rocco Harmon and two relievers combined on a three-hitter for Fort Collins; Harmon pitched five innings, allowing all three hits and a walk. He fanned four.
Colter Wilson went six innings for Billings, allowing seven hits and a walk with eight strikeouts.
Bellevue 3, Mavericks 0
The Mavericks managed four hits, two of them by Colter Nicolarsen.
Chris Compton threw five solid innings for the Mavs, allowing four hits, two walks and one earned run. He fanned six.
Isaac Hallam won the pitcher’s duel, though, going seven innings with one walk. He struck out 10.
