Tribute concert features music of pop rock band Huey Lewis and The News

The music of a quintessential American rock band Huey Lewis and the News is featured during a tribute concert next week for the final installment of the Whitefish Summer Concert Series.  

The Whitefish Theatre Company and Merie Productions are joining forces for the concert that has three performances on Aug. 16, 17 and 18 at 8 p.m. at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.   

The band had a run of hit singles in the 1980s and early 1990s enduring them to millions of fans. With total of 19 top-10 singles including "I Want a New Drug," "The Heart of Rock and Roll," "If This is It", "Heart and Soul," and "The Power of Love" single that was featured in the hit movie “Back to the Future” and was nominated for an Academy Award.  

The band's most popular album, “Sports” was released in 1983. The album along with its music videos being featured on MTV catapulted the group to worldwide fame.  

The Huey Lewis tribute band features Dustin Brayley, Patrick Hambrick, and a full ensemble of incredible local musicians.  

The Whitefish Summer Concert Series is dedicated to bringing the classic music of the past to town through tribute bands comprised of professional musicians from the Flathead Valley and across the country.
