Twins drop first game at Northwest A, Outlaws stay alive

ROSEBURG, Ore — Gage Rose drove in three runs on two hits as the Eagle River Wolves defeated the Glacier Twins 13-4 Friday at the Northwest A tournament. 

The Wolves scored 11 runs over the first four innings as they handed the Twins their first loss of the tournament. 

Gallatin Valley also picked up a win, defeating the Minico Storm 6-3 in a loser out affair earlier in the afternoon. 


Wolves 13, Twins 4

Kellen Kroger hit an RBI triple in the second inning as the Twins tied the game up 4-4 in the frame. 

Rose doubled in the third to put Eagle River back on top 6-4. The Wolves extended the lead in the fourth with five runs, spearheaded by a trio of RBI singles. 

From that point on the Twins only picked up one more hit in the game; a seventh inning single from Nolan Amerman. 

Ryan Mullen started on the mound for the Wolves, going five innings and allowing four runs on five hits. He struck out five. 

Killian Johannes threw the final two innings in relief allowing one hit and picking up five strikeouts. 

Micheal Miller, Trenton Derosa and West Amerman shared the pitching duties for the Twins.

Outlaws 6, Storm 3

Brody Ayers sixth inning two-run single gave the Outlaws the lead and Cyrus Tebay added another run to secure the 6-3 win over the Minico storm. 

Caydon Fletcher tied the game for the Storm with a two-RBI double in the fifth. 

Ayers stood tall on the mound for Gallatin Valley, throwing a complete game. He allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out seven batters. 


Northwest AA 

Scarlets 7, Recovery 2

BILLINGS — Nate McDonald homered in the first inning and added two more hits as the Scarlets staved off elimination over the Lakeside Recovery. 

Zach Stewart threw a complete game, allowing two runs on four hits for the Scarlets. He fanned five. 

Billings moves into a loser-out game on Saturday against the Service Cougars out of Anchorage, Alaska at noon.
