Marty Hafer, 72

Marty Hafer, 72, passed away on Aug. 6, 2024. He left us quietly and entered Heaven. He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Nov. 27, 1951, to Charles and Darlene (Nelson) Hafer.

He graduated from Flathead High School in 1970. His first marriage was to Mary Johnson, with whom he had a beautiful daughter, Christiane. In 1980, he married Lorie Bunyea. They had three sons, Jesse, Tanner, and Cory.

Marty worked at his uncle Gary's motorcycle shop in Twin Falls, Idaho. After moving to Kalispell, he worked at Bell's Manufacturing, Pack and Co., American Asphalt, A-1 Paving, and the Flathead County Road Department. He retired from the county in 2016.

He enjoyed restoring his 1949 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery and working in his yard. He built the house he lived in. After he retired, he built his wife an art studio. Illness kept him from doing more of the things he wanted to do.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Darlene; his brother, Kerry; and his father-in-law, Eugene Bunyea.

He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Lorie; his daughter, Christiane, and her husband, Lance; his sons, Jesse and his wife, Sheila; Tanner and his wife, Nevada; and Cory; his brother, Kevan; his sister, Julie; his grandchildren, Anna, Nathan, Jacob, Sage, Aspen, Brooke, Kirrah, Trapper, Ranger, and River; and many dear cousins and friends.

A service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Bible Baptist Church, 64 Dove Lane., Kalispell.
