ROSEBURG, Ore. — The Glacier Twins and Gallatin Valley Outlaws may have been declared co-champions at the State A legion tournament, but Saturday the two teams finally settled the score in a loser out game at the Northwest A legion tournament.

Brody Ayers drove in four runs to help the Outlaws eliminate the Twins 9-1 to advance to Sunday’s championship.

Over in Billings, the Scarlets kept their hopes of a Legion World Series appearance alive with a 12-1 win over Service, Alaska.

Outlaws 9, Twins 1

Jaxson Iddings started off the offense for the Outlaws in the first inning with an RBI single making it 1-0.

After another Outlaws run, Glacier got on the board in the third inning as Jake McIntyre singled to right, scoring Kellen Kroger.

That was all that Glacier (33-14) would get as Nick Albro went 6 1-3 innings allowing just six hits. He fanned seven Twins hitters.

Iddings extended the lead on a single to right, a throwing error allowed him to snag three extra bases following Cyrus Tebay home. That made it a 4-1 ball game.

Ayers sealed the victory for Gallatin Valley in the seventh inning with a three-run double to left.

Treyson Murphy and Dawson Juntunen combined to pitch for the Twins.

The Outlaws move on to Sunday, where they will play either Central Point, Ore. or Eagle River, Alaska, who played Saturday’s late game.
