Sue Donaldson, 81
Sue Ann (Snell) Donaldson, 81, died on Aug. 2, 2024, in Spokane, Washington. She was born to Betty and James H. Snell on June 16, 1943, in Shelby, and raised in the Lake Blaire area with her five siblings, Jim Snell, Bob Snell, John Snell, Donna Gilbertson, and Lois Hook. She went to grade school in the little schoolhouse of Cayuse Prairie and attended Flathead County High School.
Although Sue held a variety of different jobs over the years, including 17 years at Lamb Weston, her favorite was being a mom. Sue married Edwin Donaldson and raised five children during their 40 years together.
She is survived by all five children, Robert Donaldson (Washington), Roger Donaldson (Washington), Richard Donaldson (Washington), Becky Allaire (Texas), and Cathy Hands (South Carolina). She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 12-plus great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, who passed in 1999, and her parents.
Sue enjoyed her retirement years fellowshipping, hosting gatherings, gardening, and as an avid audiobook listener. She loved to decorate for the holidays and would often cover her home, inside and out, with lights and decorations of all colors. She was known for her generosity and big heart, often giving above and beyond what was required. Beyond all else was her love for God and Jesus Christ which showed in many aspects of her life.
A memorial service is being held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls on Aug. 12, at 11 a.m.
