NO. 30632 PUBLIC NOTICE Rem #483833 In accordance with §75 10 735(4), Montana Code Annotated (MCA), the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) hereby gives notice of approval of the Voluntary Cleanup Plan (VCP) for the Former PacifiCorp Substation Facility in Big Fork, Montana. The VCP consists of the VCP-Environmental Assessment dated March 7, 2019, and the VCP-Remediation Proposal dated May 31, 2024. DEQ solicited public comment on the VCP for 30 days, July 1, 2024, through July 31, 2024. DEQ did not receive any comments during this period. DEQ has concluded that the VCP meets the requirements specified in § 75-10-734, MCA and will attain a degree of cleanup and control of hazardous or deleterious substances that complies with the requirements of § 75-10-721, MCA. The VCP characterizes the environmental contamination at the facility and indicates that the residual contaminants of concern in the soil do not pose an unacceptable risk to human health and the environment based on a restriction of property use to commercial/industrial use only. Therefore, the VCP proposes placement of institutional controls limiting use of the Former PacifiCorp Substation property to commercial/industrial use and prohibits residential use. The VCP is available for review at the DEQ State Superfund Unit of the Waste Management & Remediation Division office located at 1225 Cedar Street in Helena, and on DEQ’s Public Notices webpage at: https://deq.mt.gov/public/publicnotice.  If you have questions, please contact Robert Roll, DEQ, Waste Management & Remediation Division, P.O. Box 200901, Helena, MT 59620 0901 or by email at rroll@mt.gov or by phone at (406) 444-6438. August 20, 2024 MNAXLP __________________________
