Lakers’ Brennan named AA All-State
Catcher Osten Brennan, who helped the Kalispell Lakers go 39-25 this summer, was named All-State for Montana/Alberta Class AA by league coaches.
Brennan was the lone Laker to be honored either as All-State or all-conference. He was a defensive standout for Kalispell — a 1.89-second “pop time” throwing from the plate — who also hit .346 with 60 runs scored, 36 runs batted in and 24 stolen bases from the leadoff spot.
The Billings Scarlets, who 63-16 and earned Montana’s first American Legion World Series berth in 60 years, had five players named All-State and another three named all-conference.
State champion Missoula had three players named All-State.
