Corvallis, East Helena win Ronan golf

RONAN — Brady Powell shot a four-under 68 to lead Corvallis to the team title at the Ronan Invitational at Mission Mountain Golf Club Thursday.

Powell picked up the individual win by two shots over Polson’s Max Milton. Corvallis’ Tag Jessop rounded out the top three with a 73. 

The Corvallis boys finished with 297 strokes to win by 20 over Columbia Falls; Dillon (333) was third. 

Bigfork’s Keni Wade shot an 82 to take the victory by five shots on the girl’s side.  

Dillon’s Skyler LaPierre (87), Briley Alberi (89), and Kira Kemph (90) took the next three spots. 

East Helena picked up the team win, combining for a 309 score, with Tayler Hadley leading the way shooting 93. Ronan (358) and Dillon (363) rounded out the top three.

Tuesday: Billings Central, Laurel win Old Works Challenge

ANACONDA — Laurel’s Sam Norman and Billings Central’s Colin Jensen both shot a three-under 69 at the annual Old Works Challenge at Old Works Golf Club on Tuesday. 

The two finished seven shots ahead of Hamilton’s Tyce O’Connell and Polson’s Max Milton in the four-team meet. 

Laurel (304) picked up the team victory in the Challenge by three shots over Billings Central (307), Polson (343) and Hamilton (359) rounded out the field. 

Hamilton’s Cameron Burnett shot 80 and took a five-shot victory over Billings Central’s Kaitlin Ferris (85). Rams’ Berkely Park (88), Anna Prill (94), Jordan Nielsen (95), and Kiya Ford (96) made it five Billings Central golfers in the top six. 

Polson did not field a full girls team. The Pirates’ top finisher was Kila Cannon, who shot a 98 and finished eighth.
