Susan 'Sue' Moore, 81

| August 25, 2024 12:00 AM

Sue Moore, 81 of Kalispell, passed away on Aug. 17, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. She was adored by folks from zero to 100. In addition to her love of family, Sue was an avid fan of every garage sale that ever was, but her first priority was her "kids," not just her own, but those she taught as well. She taught at the elementary level for seven years before taking time off to give her own two children a solid head start in life.

A native Nebraskan, Sue began her teaching career in Colorado. A year later, she was lured to Idaho where her soon-to-be husband, Bob, had launched his own teaching career. The two resided in Idaho for the next seven years teaching and enjoying the myriad of outdoor activities Idaho had to offer.

Montana was their next calling with Kalispell their destination. After her years as a stay-at-home mom, Sue returned to the classroom as a Title 1 tutor. She was truly an advocate for those children who may not have had one.

Sue also loved travel with her primary destinations being Hawaii, Mexico, and Nebraska. In addition, she enjoyed playing cards after serving one of her hallmark dinners to friends and family. Upon her retirement, she could be found volunteering at Immanuel Living, attending lunch with her friend groups, and knitting prayer shawls.

There is little doubt that she will be missed by family and friends as well as those who only knew her as Mrs. Moore.

A celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Northridge Lutheran Church with a reception to follow in the gym.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kalispell Education Foundation or the Flathead Youth Home on Sue's behalf.
