A woman held by security personnel at a local store for shoplifting allegedly threatened to kick them in the crotch in her bid to evade capture. Though she extricated herself, employees monitored her escape route and passed it along to officers with the Kalispell Police Department. After catching up to the would-be thief, the officers cited her and let her know she was banned from the store.

Spotting a man apparently chopping trees with a machete near a public swimming pool, a passerby phoned the authorities. They described the man as nonthreatening, but thought the behavior might put off families enjoying the area. Officers spoke with homeless people found in the area. They denied owning a machete.

The police moved along the owner of a black Chrysler 300 after the vehicle had spent around a week in the parking lot of a supermarket.

Officers ushered a woman found passed out on the sidewalk back to her apartment.

A man was reportedly scratching and destroying his ex's belongings outside of her home.

Two people apparently fighting prompted someone to phone the police. They said the woman was leaving the area and the other individual involved, a man, looked as though he was going to follow her. Officers were unable to uncover any sign of a disturbance.

A person moving their camper van around town wasn't doing it sneakily enough for an irked resident, who alerted the police to the scheme.

Officers launched a search for a woman reported missing by her sister, but called it off after she returned home safe. She had been in an emergency room, they learned.

Authorities moved along a motorist who had overstayed their welcome on Montana Street.

A motorist reported locking their keys in their car -- along with their dog. A towing company bailed them out.

Another motorist earned the ire of a fellow driver, who reported them for aggressive speeding after leaving a big box retailer. Officers unsuccessfully tried to locate the blue Chevrolet Silverado, which was last seen heading to points north.

Security personnel reported a man for refusing to move along. The man was last seen headed east on Center Street.

Checking out a report of a man napping in his truck, officers found the vehicle unoccupied but filled with open containers.

Officers were out of luck trying to track down an individual accused of stealing multiple items from a store including hygienic products.

Someone reported seeing a group of teens wandering around cabins while armed with cans of spray paint.
