Bulldogs’ Ridgeway commits to Grizzlies
Fynn Ridgeway, the decorated Whitefish High School quarterback who spent the past two seasons at Division II Moorhead (Minn.) State, has committed to the Montana Grizzlies.
It’s been an interesting three weeks for the 215-pounder. On Nov. 19 he announced via Twitter/X that he was entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.
“This decision was not easy and I have valued my team here and will be forever grateful for the experiences, support and friendships I’ve had as part of this special program,” he wrote in part. “I am excited for new opportunities and to continue my growth as an athlete, student and person.”
On Tuesday Ridgeway tweeted @MontanaGrizFB: “All Glory to God. Let’s get to work.” above a Grizzlies logo.
As a true freshman at Moorhead in 2023, Ridgeway saw action in three games which allowed him to keep his redshirt intact. Recruited as a quarterback, he was used as a running back and receiver. He had 16 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown, and six catches for 40 more yards.
This past fall he stayed at running back for the pass-happy Dragons, who averaged 54 attempts a game while going 6-5. Ridgeway’s 59 carries, 214 yards and three rushing touchdowns all led the team.
He also caught 23 passes for 207 yards and two more scores.
It is not clear what position group Ridgeway will join at UM. In high school he threw for 6,213 yards and 52 touchdowns while rushing for another 1,915 yards for his career.
