Nancy L. Jackola, 89
Our treasured mother, Nancy L. (Tonjum) Jackola, 89 of Kalispell, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. She was the first of four children born to Elsa and Arnold Tonjum on Aug. 16, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan.
Nancy married Thor Jackola on June 12, 1959, in Calumet, Michigan. They moved from Detroit to Whitefish in 1969, and to Kalispell in 1972. Nancy had a happy, humorous nature and was a natural caretaker. Guided by her precious faith, she was a truthful foundation for her family. Her busy home was always open to all — a welcome and comfortable place. She was a lifelong member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Thor Jackola.
She is survived by her nine children, Jennifer with husband Dick Uskoski of Kalispell, Sara with husband Tom Massie of La Center, Washington, Kristian Jackola with wife Sharon of Columbia Falls, Gina with husband Stephen Petrini of Kalispell, Michael Jackola with wife Tonya of Kalispell, Melissa with husband Timothy Linge of Heisson, Washington, Shane Jackola with wife Kristin of Kalispell, Maria with husband Toby Granger of Batttle Ground, Washington, and Melinda with husband Kent Rosenlund of Kalispell. She is also survived by her brother, David Tonjum with Ann Marie, and sisters, Sally with David Waatti and Kristine Hallstrom all of Kalispell. Nancy was blessed with 33 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, relatives, and many dear friends.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Lakeside. Burial at the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell will follow the funeral service.
