Auditions for Shrek musical next week

Whitefish Theatre Co. is holding auditions for its upcoming musical production, “Shrek: The Musical!” 

Auditions for this musical romp based on the beloved animated movie will be held on December 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish with possible callbacks on Dec. 18. Attendees are asked to arrive early to fill out an audition application, fill out a waiver form, and review the script. Enter through the north side of the building near WTC’s parking lot and conference room. 

Get ready to leave your troubles Far Far Away and embark on an unforgettable adventure filled with laughter, love, and ogre-sized fun. Join Shrek and his trusty sidekick Donkey as they set out on a quest to defeat the fearsome dragon and rescue the beautiful Princess Fiona. With a heartwarming story and a cast of unforgettable characters and fairy tale misfits, this musical extravaganza is a journey you won’t want to miss. This show is set to a toe-tapping musical numbers such as ‘I’m A Believer’, ‘Big Bright Beautiful World ’and ‘I Know It’s Today’. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, “Shrek: The Musical” is a Tony Award-winning and side-splitting adventure that proves that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre.  

Kim Kruger is the director of this production. This is a large cast and everyone high school age and older are encouraged to audition. No experience or preparation is necessary to audition. Pages from the script will be provided and musical selections taught at the audition. Copies of the script are available to pick up at the theater from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Listening to the Broadway soundtrack is the best way to become familiar with the score. 

Rehearsal s will begin early January with performances on Feb. 20-23 and 27-28, 2025 and March 1-2 and 7-8.
