Bravettes fall to Bison, 48-36

GREAT FALLS — A low-scoring first half made it hard for the Flathead Bravettes to stage a comeback against the Great Falls Bison in their season-opener losing 48-36 Friday night.

The Bravettes only scored five points in the first quarter but were able to hold the Bison to the same total and went into halftime down two points 15-13.  

Caitlin Converse was the only Bravette to reach double figures with a team high of 12 points. Grace Gall and Mattie Thompson had seven points each, while Sami Dalager added six. 

The Bison extended their lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Bravettes 13-7 to take an 8-point lead into the fourth quarter. Each team came alive in the fourth, with the Bison scoring 20 to the Bravettes 16. 

Addi Kynett led all scorers with 15 points, all of them coming from beyond the 3-point line and Kendall Gonser added nine for the Bison. 

Flathead will look to win their first game of the season tomorrow on the road against CMR at 2 p.m.
